This Lent app was really difficult to review ahead of lent, all of the days are locked and are only unlocked as the day arrives. There is no skipping ahead in this creative and stunning app. As you can see by the screenshot of the app, it is really beautiful. Lots of lively vibrant photos. That is something that I appreciate. Lent is a time of hope and inspiration, and this app truly reflects that. It really looked great in HD on my iPad.

A Family Friendly Lent App for Families

I sat with two of my kids (9 & 10 years old) and went through one of the day’s reflections, to see if it would be a bit beyond them. I was pleased that it wasn’t at all. I can’t speak for all of the reflection, but the first few seemed very family friendly. Both of these children are confirmed, and they both responded well to the reflection question we discussed.

A Lent App for 2016

I have to say congratulations to the Catholic archdiocese of Sydney, for putting together a creative and interactive app for lent.

The reflections within the app, are short and to the point, it has the links to the Catholic daily readings, of course, as well as a link to the xt3 website reflection for the day. Each reflection so far has ended with a “Lent Act” – something to do for the day, a daily Lenten activity.

Navigation was slick, although the very similar to the apple way of doing things, with a scrolling flip stack of images to scroll though.

I am so pleased that I found another Lenten app that pointed to the hope and joy of the season of lent.
